How much does it cost to hold an event at the NHM Vienna?

That depends very much on the kind of event, including the floor space, staffing and cleaning costs required. We will be happy to put together a customized offer for your event.

On which days and at what times is it possible to hold an event?

When planning your event, please be aware that the museum’s opening hours mean that events can only be held on the following days at the following times:

Wednesday:	from 08.30 pm
Thursday – Monday:	from 06.30 pm
Tuesday:	from 08.30 am

Is it possible to take a look at the event location before booking?

Yes. We will be happy to give you a tour of the museum premises, including the Upper and Lower Dome Hall and the Lecture Hall. Please get in touch to arrange a time and date for the tour.

Is smoking allowed on the premises of the NHM Vienna?

No. We operate a strict no-smoking policy.

Is it possible to use an external caterer? Do you have your own in-house catering service?

We recommend our own in-house catering service Food Affairs. They will be happy to support you with the planning and implementation of your event.

Which technical equipment is available?

The museum has a sound system with a wireless microphone. All the equipment in the Lecture Hall is included in the rental price.

Is it possible to bring in an external contractor for lighting, sound, etc.?

We will be happy to recommend a number of companies who can provide services such as lighting, sound, etc. for your event. You are, of course, also welcome to choose your own external contractor.

Is the NHM Vienna accessible to visitors with disabilities?

We are happy to offer guests attending events at the NHM Vienna exclusive access to the exhibition rooms. Guided tours are also possible, featuring interesting facts and fun anecdotes about the objects on display.

Is there the option of booking private guided tours?

Enjoy wonderful views of Vienna city center all the way to the Leopoldsberg as part of an exclusive guided tour taking guests up onto the roof of the NHM Vienna. This tour entitled Above the Rooftops of Vienna offers insights into how the exhibitions came about, how the museum was built, and the research work currently going on behind the scenes at this world-famous institution.
